So, you want a raise huh? Why not give yourself one? Remember in sales there is no ceiling on your income (there is usually no floor either, LOL).
We live in a meritocracy. A meritocracy is a system of capitalism where you get paid for your talent. That is why athletes and entertainers can make so much money. In a meritocracy, you are rewarded on the basis of the valuable you create and provide for others. Remember; there are no glass ceilings to your advancement in sales! You can give yourself a raise anytime you want to if you apply these 3 simple secrets:
SECRET #1 PUT YOUR IDEAS INTO ACTION
Action is the key!
"DO IT NOW" are three of the most powerful words for sales success. Ideas are of little worth if you don't act on them. Take the top five ideas you have for making money in sales and spend some quiet time thinking on these. Out of the top five, choose the top three. Out of the top three, select the top one to act on NOW. Take massive action on this idea today and you are on your way to giving yourself a raise.
SECRET#2 DON'T DESPISE SMALL BEGINNINGS
This one is as old as Methuselah. It is what the many call the “seed principle.” Small efforts (like seeds) often yield large results! The positive twist on it is that even a small effort on your part can yield a tremendous return. It's like stepping on the accelerator in a car; this small action gets you moving forward. Small beginnings are not to be despised. An action like sending out 10 emails a day is small but can yield rich returns.
SECRET#3 CONTINUOUS EDUCATION
We live in a changing world. To keep up with the changes you must commit to continuous education. The word that made Japan a super-power is the word "kaizen" (ki-zen) which means; constant and continuous improvement. To improve continuously you must continually upgrade your mind. Learn everything you can about sales and motivation. Attend every seminar, order self-improvement books and personal development material every chance you get, read every blog. Become a student of the sales game. Make a commitment to continuous education and sophistication in sales and you will give yourself a well-deserved raise!
